AnonyMouse_31953 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Hi we are a full daycare setting, with a to and from school run everyday involving sometimes 11 to walk 15 mins back form local school......I am seriously thinking of using a minibus for these journies ,and the weather somedays is not very comfortable for staff or children......does anyone use a minibus...if so bought or leased....and do you get special concessions from the school re parking etc.....and also insurance .....would appreciate any information from members....thanks
AnonyMouse_39602 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Have you thought about using local taxi service as they may do a good deal for regular pickup , if you have rent or buy your own you would need appropriate licence, insurances and ongoing costs .
AnonyMouse_31953 Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 good idea but sometimes 11 on 4 of 5 afternoons...I suppose a taxi service might have a 12/13 seater...thanks will check it out.
AnonyMouse_39602 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 How many staff are currently collecting , could you reduce this if you use a taxi ?
AnonyMouse_31953 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 2 staff as 4 days is 11 children....hoping local taxi firm have minibus....one does airport runs so a possibility....thanks for reply.x
AnonyMouse_52602 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 We have just leased a 9 seater mini bus. The insurance was £1600 and the cost is £400 per month plus the VAT to lease. I am sure you can buy the van for less but take care to get the insurance right. I am planning on getting it signwritten with the nurseries name, and will fit the nursery's own car seats so that are always in place and staff now how to fit them safely. i have thought about it for years and have finally done it - we haven't got it fully on the road yet but will do very soon! We are so excited!!
AnonyMouse_31953 Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Thanks Trudie...still looking into it....have to convince the staff first....I am trying to help them keep warm and dry....but they dont seem so keen..?? Anyway thanks for all your comments xx
