AnonyMouse_22106 Posted November 18, 2014 Share Posted November 18, 2014 There are at least 3 different statements for positional language C&L Understanding ~ Shows understanding of prepositions such as ‘under’, ‘on top’, ‘behind’ by carrying out an action or selecting correct picture 30-50m Maths SSM ~ Uses positional Language 30-50m Maths SSM ~ Can describe their relative position such as ‘behind’ or ‘next to’. 40-60m I understand the C&L and the Maths 40-60m - could somebody explain what the Maths 30-50m looks like please? AnonyMouse_33773 Posted November 18, 2014 Share Posted November 18, 2014 I interpret that as being just what it says - that the child uses positional language. For older I would make sure that they understand above 'below, in the middle, inside, outside, around, in front of, behind, opposite, on top, at the bottom, between, next to, beside', as well describes the relative position of people or objects.
