AnonyMouse_9288
Hi, Does anyone have a template that they'd be prepared to share, to enable 2 settings to exchange information about a child in both settings please? This hasn't happened to us before and not sure where to start. Thank you
AnonyMouse_13453
What sort of thing were you looking for? We had notebooks that we wrote in and also had the childminder on Tapestry linked to the child . Are you looking for a sheet for each to complete once a term or so? AnonyMouse_19762
There has been one shared on here before - so sorry I don't have a copy - maybe someone really helpful (unlike me) will come along and post a link(s) to previous discussions......here's hoping! :1b
AnonyMouse_19135
This is what we use - I think I've shared it on here somewhere before EY Shared care information sheet forum.doc
Guest
This is what we use, and has been shared on here before (letter to other providers) When we have sent an observation we note it in the LJ with these (obs sent to peer settings) In view of the workload, I have tried to keep this as simple as possible! AnonyMouse_3139
Thanks for sharing those both, our new manager was asking yesterday what Ofsted would look for and when I took a look at recent inspections in our area, sharing information with other settings a child attends was in there. Great idea adding the child-minder - I hadn't thought about that. Thanks Cait!

AnonyMouse_4495
We had the very same conversation at our management committee meeting last night as my role is to get our playgroup 'Ofsted ready' and I've done some research on other providers in the area and two of the reports stated that they were not yet Outstanding because they didn't effectively share information with other providers. We had a huge discussion about it and our Chair thought that the 2 year old check and transition documents were enough to be shared, but I disagreed. However, I didn't have an answer as to how often things NEEDED to be shared or in other words, how often Ofsted would expect us to share information - once a half term/term/every six months? Is it just the observations or would a photocopy of the progress check with an accompanying overview suffice? What is the success rate with responses?
AnonyMouse_3975
We share our next steps with other settings which give an overview of progress and then the next steps half termly and they in turn do the same. We also share reports.
AnonyMouse_22106
What is the success rate with responses? Success rate for us is good - although our closest Outstanding day nursery never returns them (even though I send a Stamped return envelope) but it was quoted in their report that they have strong links with other settings!! I have ALWAYS had to start the flow, nobody has ever contacted us first; and to be honest until I send another form back giving them & asking for more info it NEVER happens

AnonyMouse_4495
Thanks everyone. The response I got was that we always try and make contact and get nothing back, so why bother. Well, we need to be showing that we are making contact - it's not our fault that others aren't returning the favour!
AnonyMouse_3735
Thanks everyone. The response I got was that we always try and make contact and get nothing back, so why bother. Well, we need to be showing that we are making contact - it's not our fault that others aren't returning the favour! very true.. however the down side of this is the fact that it does give the other setting paperwork to say they have contact with other settings.. which they do not actually return.. had this issue all the time.. never resolved it.. was a big nightmare trying to get anything from the other settings.. I did record all I sent but often wondered if that was enough..
AnonyMouse_1469
I keep copies of the letters i send to the other setting in my area, to show that I have tried to create links. I also put a note of the phone calls I made to them too. Interestingly, they have recently been inspected and didn't get Outstanding, and one of the reasons given for that was..............................not doing enough to create links with other local settings. have they, as a result of this, made contact?? No, of course not. I suspect though that they WILL suddenly make that contact when their next inspection is due..........
