AnonyMouse_31953
We have lots of old towels we lay down.....same as we use if it rains and our entrance floor gets slippery....works well for us...you just have to accumulate a few old bath towels....xx
AnonyMouse_5970
We use an old cotton rug. It does get soaked but prevents the floor getting wet and slippery. It's machine washable too.
AnonyMouse_11396
Hi we use a ground sheet purchased from a camping shop. I think there is a product which soaks up the liquid, but does not rot etc. Think it might be called something like perma mat, although I may have got that wrong. Okay it's called Perma Fresh Mat, might be worth a look. Edited January 28, 2015 by Fredbear
AnonyMouse_51737
We have four large cotton type bath matts yes they get wet but as they are thick they prevent slipping, but on radiator each night and washed weekly, they have done us well for over a year.
Guest
Old towels here, which I find I am washing too much! (nowhere to leave them to dry overnight!)
AnonyMouse_19762
Just a large piece of plastic sheeting - quite thick - bought years ago - can't remember where from  - just mop several times during session :1b

AnonyMouse_3735
a mop ... we had a hard floor and over years I tried many solutions.. most became a trip hazard, took ages to dry and were a real pain - so I decided to try without anything.. Just a microfibre mop with a handle that could be extended or made small.. think it was a vileda one but the important thing was the handle could be made to a length suitable for a child ..result was a dryer floor as less got dropped on it, because there was nothing to catch it.. . and children used the mop to dry the floor when they needed.. it was surprising how little water did get dropped or spread.. I always wanted one of those beware wet floor signs to put out near the water tray but never found one - thought it ould be good for them to learn and recognise the hazard warning sign.
AnonyMouse_7120
Just a mop too, and a sign to tell children the floor is slippery..a bit of managing their own risks doesn't hurt them, liking the child friendly mop Inge...a bit of actions have consequences too
AnonyMouse_48226
We don't have anything down either but I like the idea of leaving the mop out for them. We leave the dustpan and brush out sometimes but have never thought about the mop.
AnonyMouse_44476
We don't put anything down either just mop when needs be and the wet floor sign - the children love fetching it, sometimes I think they spill things intentionally so they can get it out :-)
AnonyMouse_28434
Our area is stone tiled. We use a mop but if very wet, have washable carpet mats (b&q I think) which work really well and are not trip hazards.

Guest
Hi we are in a hall that has carpet which they are very protective over..we therefore have 3 lots of lino which we roll out each day that goes under the messy play, painting table and sand and water tray. Is heavy enough to lie flat, easy to clean and actually as it is a light beige colour makes the room lighter!
