AnonyMouse_51737 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Oh dear the code of practice has been revised and the amended version will come into effect 1st April, the government are not producing a document outlining the changes instead we have to sift through it and find the changes
AnonyMouse_19920 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 code of practice - how can they not just tell us what /where changes are? will they be significant changes do you know - where did you read this?
AnonyMouse_12960 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 ive just had a google, hoping against hopes that I wouln't find anything, but.......i did. The current COP and the new one (april 2015) are here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/send-code-of-practice-0-to-25 I havent read it yet...
AnonyMouse_51737 Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 Yes that's it, found out a SENCo network meeting x
AnonyMouse_12960 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 shame they couln't have told us that the last one would only be in place for a few months before the next version is required. I might have then chosen to print only the EY sections rather than the whole flipping document, which of course I will now need to print again!! Also , is the parents guide going to be upated as well? 1

AnonyMouse_12960 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 have just googled some more and found an old consultation that talks about the changes being proposed for the April 2015 COP. The annex at the end sets out the changes (i think!!) https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/365618/Draft_Special_Educational_Needs_and_Disability__Detained_Persons__Regulations_2015_and_Draft_Revised_Code_of_Practice_-_Consultation_Document.pdf 1
AnonyMouse_8282 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'd be pretty annoyed if I'd forked out for printed publication of the book.
AnonyMouse_35585 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I purchased the publication of the book! How annoying
Guest Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 It's just updated guidance on support for children and young people in youth custody, the early years chapter remains the same, details are here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/send-code-of-practice-0-to-25 Local Authority interpretations of the SEND Code of Practice are mixed, to say the least! IPSEA is a great charity which can advise parents on their legal rights, details here: https://www.ipsea.org.uk/
