We are a day nursery in a rural area and very rarely have any children with EAL. We have a little boy at the moment who is 2 and from Bulgaria. He has been with us since the new year. He has only a handful of English words but when his parents collect him, he chatters away to them in Bulgarian, so has well developed language skills in his home language. We are looking for some ideas to support him. We don't know any Bulgarian, although of course we can ask his parents. Bulgarian has a different script to English (in the same way as Russian and Greek do). Any ideas gratefully received! Thanks.
