SueFinanceManager Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hi All Following on from my post Early Years Pupil Premium Guidance for Local Authorities now see Early Years Pupil Premium Guidance for Providers here
AnonyMouse_19762 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Thank you Sue - I really need to get my head round this - have received a letter today from our LA - we would receive an additional 0.53 per funded hour - so well worth it - just not at all sure that I will have any eligible children - pretty affluent area here......
AnonyMouse_35605 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 It does seem to mean that we have to ask everyone about their financial position which will probably be quite difficult and intrusive. Has anyone done it already and could share a pro forma?
AnonyMouse_6721 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 There is a pro forma on there. I haven't really taken much notice of this as our setting is in a very rich area but we do get one or two two year old funding. Do we really have to rely on parents completing a form to ensure we get extra money when there is no finicial gain to them. Getting them to sign a grant form to recieve hundreds a pounds worth of free childcare is beyond them. Even if I threaten to bill them for it if they don't sign the form. An idea: Bill everyone the extra fee's until they send in a completed form. Anyway what is the extra money for. Our two year old funded turn up in new clothes every session, have expensive foreign holidays and days out. 3
AnonyMouse_1027 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 all you need to ask for is national insurance number which once LAs have sorted out a format they can be checked like the 2yr funded checker :1b 2
AnonyMouse_14766 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Thanks for this. We've heard nothing from our LA yet and was wondering what to do about the premium.
AnonyMouse_30128 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 yes many thanks for info...LA no info as yet

We already ask to see birth cert before claiming funding.
AnonyMouse_1027 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 yes that's what a lot of my providers are going to do - put it on registration forms 1
AnonyMouse_6721 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Do we then bombard councils with everyones NI numbers. It's not always obvious to me which ones are claiming benefits.

AnonyMouse_5970 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Yep, and designer handbags and watches.
AnonyMouse_43806 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 The EYPP does not apply to 2 year olds, only funded 3 and 4 year olds.
Guest Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Can I please ask (as there's very little guidance!) - do I send out the letter and form to those children who are already 3, or also those that will be 3 between now and Easter? Or everyone - 2 year olds too, ready for when they ARE eligible? Thanks.
AnonyMouse_11396 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) You could send it out now, but it is only applicable from April 2015. If you have two year olds already eligible then they should go straight into this, the term after their 3rd birthday, as long as their circumstances have not changed. All others would have to notify you to allow you to claim on their behalf. Edited February 20, 2015 by Fredbear
Guest Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 The government have done a proforma to send out to parents, can't remember how I found it now but I am sending it out to the 2 year old funded parents and our Pre-School children.
