Days Of The Week Songs

Guest

Recommended Posts

My daughter has asked for ideas of songs about days of the week, months of the year or generally time passing for a project on her teaching practise (Year 1)

I know there are lots but all I've come up with so far are Mondays Child, Soloman Grundy and January brings the snow. Can you help?

thanks

Al

I had a quick search for days of the week songs for you and came up with these -

Every Week

(tune: Are you Sleeping)

Every week has 7 days,

See how many you can say.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,

Saturday. What's today?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Days of the Week

(to the tune of Frere Jacques!)

These are all the

da-ays of the we-ek,

Sing with me,

Sing with me.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Saturday

A day to play.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star")

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday too.

Wednesday, Thursday just for you.

Friday, Saturday that's the end .

Now let's say those days again!

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday!

For the day of the week the song is:

Today is Monday all day long doo-dah doo-dah Today is Monday all day long all the doo dah day

For all the days of the week at one time the song is:

(Sung to the tune of Happy Days) Sunday Monday Happy Days Tuesday Wednesday Happy Days Thursday Friday Happy Days Saturday What a Day What a Day to watch cartoons... substitute choice of child's activity

Not sure how relevant this will be as it's been a while since anyone posted it seems.

However, we sing

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday too

one, two, three, four, five, six, seven days

each day is different and every day is new!

Hope someone can use my first post :D

Edit by Steve: We've been asked by the composer of 'Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday' / 'Each Day Different and Every Day New' (Peter Lewis) to let you know that the song is published in the 'Harlequin' song collection by A C Black, London (Bloomsbury).
