AnonyMouse_6721 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Did anyone watch the shocking programme on channel 4 last night. If you didn't it was the amount of rotten teeth that the NHS have to remove from preschool children that was the most shocking. I would really like to make a display around brushing teeth and avoiding sugary drinks. Does anyone know where I can get any posters / leaflets / other material to support this? Quote
Guest Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Some counties have a leaflet centre where you could pick stuff up from. Otherwise try your local dentist. There is also the stop the rot campaign and I think Colgate may have a campaign too. Also maybe change for life website. Quote
Guest Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I've seen a display done on Pinterest where a setting put up the empty bottles then put a ziplock bag of the amount of sugar in that drink underneath it to highlight just how much sugar is in kid's drinks. Quote
AnonyMouse_11396 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Our local dentists practice manager visits us. We have a brief discussion with the children on dental hygiene, healthy foods and drink. Then they can play with the puppets, masks etc. They often give out leaflets too for parent/carers and little dental care books for the children. We also have a playdough dental set, which can open discussions on teeth care. Have you looked on the Oral B site, or Colgate etc. Quote
AnonyMouse_30128 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Your county should have an oral hygiene specialist...they may well come in and do talks/displays and provide posters for you....like cait i would also suggest the smile 4life campaign (you can get certificates for different levels if thats your thing) ...in this area it is a huge problem and there is a regular slot every thurday morning to remove children's teeth under the age of 5....AWFUL Quote

TAlk with your area children's centre - our community oral hygienist does a lot with ours. Quote
