Hello all,

I'm after a couple of storage ideas...

1. Dressing up clothes - having not been interested in dressing up at all for ages my class have suddenly become obsessed by it but my storage (a box!) is rubbish, they ferret about to find what they want and the rest of the contents are strewn over the floor to be trodden on, slipped on and generally get in the way. I do have too many out at the moment - it was an attempt to get a renewed sense of what they were interested in - but I'd like some better storage which makes them more accessible and easier to tidy up!

2. String! I have lots of kite making at the moment (and the other day some boys made really cool personal football games by scrumpling a ball of paper, tying string round it and tying the other end to one of their belt loops. The making is brilliant, the string though is getting into a right state. I am sure that somewhere I have seen a fantastic string dispensing type idea but I can't remember what it was or where I saw it!

So, any ideas? I'm contemplating a visit to IKEA!

I got a clothes hanger frame thing from ebay, and children got used to putting clothes onto the hangers and hanging them up. Was a good skill.

As for the string dispenser, you can use a pop bottle if you cut the bottom off and the top, remove the centre section, put the ball in the top bit and pull the end through the neck, sticky tape the bottom onto the top, trapping the ball inside but leaving room for it to move around a bit. Sometimes the ball has a hole through and you can thread a different string through and pin that to the wall, leaving the ball free

used this http://bit.ly/1vGSYDc woth hangers for dressing up... boxes for accessories.. surprising how well they learnt to use hangers for everything..

and same as Cait.. bottle for string.. or you can find tins in garden centres that do the same.. use one at home in the garden , brilliant , a tin with a hole in the top to thread the end through

Asda have a tin string dispenser in their gardening section at the moment. About £4 from what I remember.

dressing up ....no idea looking for a better solution myself!

string ....keep small square tissue boxes......put string in hole at top (when empty of course!) then poke a hole near the base and thread string through. As they are so cheap you can have lots and lots!

I will have to send Mr S up to you - he made me a super dressing up trolley - as Cait said that does involve an extra skill 'find a hanger and hang it up' :1b it has a bottom shelf (well the base really) for shoes and bags and a top shelf for hats.....oh and a safety mirror on one side - it's pretty nifty :1b

Ours is a metal rack and although does a basic job I would love a more modern one!
