Hi everyone

I wonder if any of you lovely people would share what you pay per hour for hiring your halls. I know this would be more along the lines of pre-schools but anyone who would share would be great.

Thank you

Off top of my head £27 per 3hour session, yorkshire x

I've offered rent increase to take over building more as I don't feel it's a high rate anyway, but it's a small church community who are all very much set in their ways and don't like change so we keep plodding on offering what we can :)

Church hall £6 per hour

Sole use during our sessions

Cleaner once a week so we clean

Fresh list of hours we require written up every term

No rental agreement

Wicked Water Witch to deal with

£13k per annum for me.... (we are morinings only so it works out at £22.51 per hr- we are in London). We do sort of have sole use (share with sunday school, and very occassional other users). We do our own cleaning, pay for our rubbish etc......and yet we are having to close next year as the church want us out.....after 17 years!!!!

For those of you in consecrated buildings, take our story as a word of warning.

Am I reading this correctly? £12,000 per annum I take it

Yep ...not per week! xD Although a church hall no longer owned by the church so no committee's etc just landlords (who tried to put up my rent by 350% last year because he read that full day care nurseries were raking it in ...i said that's not what we do...he said well change then! (we argued...now sorted!)

Yes full maintenance, church leased, pay cleaner, gardener 15k pa. Plus church's legal fees and contribution to their building ins!

Why do we have to charge "voluntary contribution?"

Can't think why?

But we do have large spacious rooms, so there is some comfort.

Are you open all year or term time only?

term time only but hire out hall for parties etc and looking in to extending hours to make money! ...too many full day care places round here and not what we have built our reputation on...mainly sessional but can offer full days too. We are located near a big school so fits teachers requirements for term time only

Wowsers !!! Thought we had it cheap.... Appears not at all ? We do have good storage, one really large hall, side room, kitchen very small courtyard (that we paid to have levelled and fenced) they asked for rent increase and we said no they agreed to hold it for a while. Utilities are included in rates x

Our utilities are included too. We have 2 large rooms, own kitchen area, toilets, big outdoor area albeit concrete and fence, and large storage room. I have been moaning when they book the room and we have to pack away (about 4 times a year). Im going to be quiet from now on!!!!!!!!!

Yes it's cheap , I had not realised until recently but since being manager and chair of trustees of village hall preschool have enhanced the environment immensely . The trustees have always charged less for groups involving children which I am happy with.

Yes ours are the same for Brownies, Toddlers, Pre-school .. I think it's seen as an asset to have in a village; I was once told it helps to sell houses and keeps house prices up too if there are facilities for young families

Ooh! I'll have to try that in next negotiation. Not sure it will make that much difference as the diocese is a bit removed.

Again I do say we have got some fabulous facilities two large rooms, kitchen, back & front outside play areas. We are lucky just could do with being a bit cheaper.

Church hall preschool, outer London. Like Panders pay £10 an hour (discounted from £14 I think, as I am a newbie) plus heating between October and May works out about 16K per annum for term time use. Cleaner (ha ha) once a week. Good size garden. Have to pack away one or two times a week, plus big pack away away for weekends which involves setting out tables and chairs for weekend use which we then have to pack away on Monday before we get our stuff out. It's a pain but, as I always tell the staff, could be worse, could be every night. I have a three year lease which cost an absolute fortune - nearly five grand. How these swanky lawyers get away with it I don't know.

Lashes - wow!
