AnonyMouse_46803 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Hi everyone, I've got an interview this week for a nursery teacher job. I was a nursery teacher but have been a reception teacher for three years so trying my hardest to remember where my children were up to at this point in the year. I've got to teach phonics to high ability children and was going to do oral blending. Obviously I don't know what their previous knowledge is but even if they've never done it before then I'm modelling it to them rather than asking them to do it so I'm hoping this will be fine. Any thoughts from Nursery teachers would be appreciated! Thanks T13
AnonyMouse_4562 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Hi, I'm in Nursery and my middle ability children are beginning to orally blend now. My most able are ready to start the phonics. Hope that helps x
Guest Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 My top are working on segmenting CVC words. can already blend. they start nursery well below expected levels so would think most top ability would be beginning to do this or more.
Guest Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 To be honest I would call them and ask them. They want to see you at your best and having as much knowledge as possible will help this to be possible. Good luck.
