AnonyMouse_53422 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Hi, This may sound like a really strange question but in terms of nappy changing what does everyone do. we currently have set times in the day where all children are changed, but then we do additional changes as and when necessary. But my question is what is a reasonable amount of time between nappy changes? our first change is also at 10am but the children do not arrive until 8.15 so it seems pretty quick
AnonyMouse_19135 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 We change nappies as and when needed - if they aren't wet etc then they're not changed..... Those children who are in from 9-3 used to get changed before lunch no matter what but we have a few at the moment who just don't wee or anything during the day so they're not changed - this was decided with parents who said it was pointless changing if not needed. Those children who are in just for a 3 hour session also don't get changed if they don't 'need' it p.s the parents of the children who don't seem to wee throughout the day have been spoken to regarding it being unusual
AnonyMouse_8282 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Sessional preschool. We change our as and when needed. Most usually end up being changed at some point, but then again some are still fairly dry so are left. We work with individual parents with this.
AnonyMouse_35585 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) We do as an when needed but for the children staying all day (9-3) they are always changed at least once. Edited April 30, 2015 by klc106
AnonyMouse_19920 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 we change our children as and when needed - those staying all day are changed a little while after lunch as they usually have soiled their nappy by then
AnonyMouse_8885 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 We change as needed if obviously wet or soiled. During a 3 hour morning session, all children are changed before they go home. If a child is completely dry, we don't change. All noted in a nappy log..ie time changed, wet, soiled, sat on potty, did a wee or did nothing! Ah...the joys of paperwork.
AnonyMouse_39602 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 As and when needed , those staying for morning only are changed if needed before going home , those whose nappies are dry we speak to parents regarding toilet training , we have a rota so that one person is responsible but others change if necessary .
AnonyMouse_63 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 As and when needed also children who stay all day (6.25hrs) are changed around dinner time
Guest Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Didn't realise people still had set nappy changing times!! We are as and when required, doesn't fit very well with me changing on a job lot, sorry
AnonyMouse_53422 Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Thanks for your opinions guys. I was just curious, children are only with us for 3 4/5 hours per day (8- 12) and 12.10- 3.55. I was unsure as to whether for a session of this length children should be changed unless they need to be ? We do have some children stay all day so they would definatly need a scheduled change around lunchtime.
