AnonyMouse_19920
Hi, we have received an application from a 17 year old who has just completed her nvq2 - she has yet to be interviewed but if suitable can anyone tell me what extra steps i have to put in as she is only 17? what forms etc., do i need to complete? is it a lot of extra work? she would be employed as a member of staff not an apprentice. many thanks as want to be ready if she is the successful applicant. :0)
AnonyMouse_23964
I think you might need to carry out a separate risk assessment for a young person. It seems to be somewhere in the back of my mind from risk assessment course.
AnonyMouse_73
At 17 she can be counted in ratio and therfore as far as I am aware, you don't need to do anything 'extra' to what you would normally do for induction, probation, support and supervision of a newly recruited member of staff. AnonyMouse_23964
When is she 18? Just found a gov document about employing children which states the age of a child rises to 18 in 2015. Will try to put link up.
AnonyMouse_30128
I thought they had to be 18 to be in ratios now? we have risk assessments for under 18 students includes use of knives for instance ! and dangerous equipment !
