Not a very productive day

Recommended Posts

Well I gave up on today getting anything done. Just spent an hour or so watching a film, but what a good film - if you liked the BBC comedy Outnumbered you will like this film,' What we did on our holiday'. Full of giggles one minute but heart wrenching honesty the next. Not sorry I spent the time on this.

Oh sounds good - will have to watch out for that! :1b

Nothing wrong with spending some time enjoying a film or a book or whatever - we are meant to be on holiday! :1b

Absolutely but does anyone else feel guilty about it?! I usually aim to work hard on school work for the first couple of weeks then switch off completely. Yesterday morning I was in school in the morning and ended up going for a picnic, walk and cup of tea with a colleague and her three boys in the afternoon - got home about 4.30pm. Had a lovely afternoon but felt bad about all the school work I hadn't done!

I know exactly what you mean - but blow it - enjoy whatever opportunities arise - that sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon

Stargrower - I have those days at work too! My summer TDL seems longer than usual because for various reasons I can't explain here school was even more manic (and trying!) than usual at the end of term - I didn't do some of the 'normal' jobs that would usually have been done by then so have spent some of my week so far catching up with them and just clearing the decks a little so I can start on the 'real' work!

It was a lovely afternoon Sunnyday and today I babysat the same three boys while their mum went for an emergency dentist appointment. Another trip to the park then toast and honey back at my house (I'm not well stocked for food for small children!) followed by impromptu cookie making. Since they left I have done half a dozen things off the TDL - mostly class list, name label type stuff but it all helps!

I wouldn't exchange afternoons like that for anything. Most of my friends live a long way away so I don't get as much social time as I'd like - this was lovely.
