AnonyMouse_19782 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Yes I too was taught to do it that way Inge. These days quite different, it certainly seems more shocking to see how much fat is in pastry when it is done the "new" way. 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 I agree! It's scary to see how much fat is in there! Quote
AnonyMouse_26037 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 I agree! It's scary to see how much fat is in there! Bit like if you ever make home made mayonnaise! Have any of you got anyone you'd really like to see win and is that any different from the person you think actually will?! Quote
AnonyMouse_19782 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Well, I quite like Matt? (the fireman) he seems the most relaxed about it all - bit of a cheeky chappie etc. But who will actually win?? the prison governor I think, can't remember his name. Quote

Hmm, you mean Paul, the Paul lookalike! Hahaha. Quote
AnonyMouse_19762 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Loved tonight's episode but sorry to see Matt leave 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_26037 Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 I was at book group so only saw the second half! I'm going to watch the first half in bed on iplayer. Sorry to see Matt go too. I do love the way Nadiya is so pleased when she wins a technical challenge! Quote
AnonyMouse_19782 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I liked it because it was more "normal" cooking, things we had heard of, things we could have a go at! The Victorian theme is a new sort of thing, quite liked it as an idea. 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I set up my recorder to tape it but only got the last 10 mins or so! Was it on later than planned? Quote
AnonyMouse_19762 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I set up my recorder to tape it but only got the last 10 mins or so! Was it on later than planned? No - why don't you pop round here this afternoon - I have it all recorded - I have to do that in case (as often happens) I drop off while it's still on! 2 Quote

AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I'd love Nadia to win but I'm still baffled why anyone wants to go through all the trouble, panic, stress, anxiety and fiddling to bother! Quote
AnonyMouse_19762 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Oooh looking forward to tonight's final :1b 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_26037 Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 And me! Feel like I should bake something to eat while watching but I think it might just be pancakes. Quote
AnonyMouse_7227 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I'm going to have to avoid all social media and media in general this evening and tomorrow morning cos I'm at work till 2am and then I'm out for my FS group in the morning so won't be able to watch it till the afternoon! Enjoy all! Quote
AnonyMouse_26037 Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Good luck hiding Jester! Who do you all think will win and is it the same as who you'd like to win?! Quote
AnonyMouse_19762 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I would be happy whoever wins - I like them all :1b 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_26037 Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Oh wow! Such a lovely final! Quote
AnonyMouse_19782 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 and still teary - Even Mary Berry had a tear in her eye Quote
AnonyMouse_26037 Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Glad it wasn't just me! My 'real life' Bake Off friend wasn't teary and I felt all embarrassed! I really liked the challenges for the final - they were fancy versions of familiar things and I felt like if I worked hard there might be a chance I could do them - most of the other bakes for the series have been unthinkable! 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_39602 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I cried too , was chuffed Nadiya won , she has grown so much throughout and I certainly changed my opinion of her as the weeks went on Quote
