AnonyMouse_42713 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Sorry if this has been asked before but does anyone have an OFSTED folder or file that has info and photos in of activities you have done previously but they may not see during their time with you? Curious what others include as ours is a bit all over the place currently
AnonyMouse_19782 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I have a folder which has copies of all our forms, policies a few cards from parents in it, questionnaires etc. "a one stop shop" if you will, but to be honest while I was watching she didn't look at it, she just asked me questions all the time. We have a group diary with photographs in it and we annotate those each month to make a book to look back on, Inspector did look at it briefly. 1
AnonyMouse_19802 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Yes we have a photo diary of lovely activities that have taken place over time....however like Panders the inspector was'nt very interested in it. I think they really only judge you on whats happening then and there - past glories don't count! : ( Children like to look at it though and it makes a nice book for developing communication and language - so we shall carry on with it regardless : ) 2
AnonyMouse_42713 Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 I don't want to be photocopying forms etc if I don't need to. Last time she barely looked at it and for the effort it takes to maintain I think I may try to cut it down to a smaller less daunting folder lol! We have all kinds of stuff in there but there is no order to it.
AnonyMouse_11396 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) Yes we do have a folder, but I wouldn't say it's for Ofsteds perusal exclusively. More a wonderful pictorial history of our year. So planning sheets, photos, thank you's, our action plan, roles and responsibilities etc etc etc. Edited September 1, 2015 by Fredbear
AnonyMouse_33773 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Our inspector looked at the website before coming and we have lots of photos there.
Guest Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I have a folder with our SEF and the action plan I make linked to the 'to develop' points in the SEF. This also has updates on what we have done to meet those aims (but no evidence). I also keep evidence of consultations with parents, staff and children in the same folder. Ofsted was very positive about it.
AnonyMouse_5970 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 When we were inspected in May, the inspector gave me a list of paperwork she wanted to see and I just dug it out when she was doing other things. It was really helpful as I could find things without her breathing down my neck. She had looked at our website and SEF and asked lots and lots of questions. I don't think a folder of past activities would have been used very much. They want to see what you're doing on the day.
AnonyMouse_33773 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I have a folder on the computer for inspections where I put a copy of all documents they want to look at, and any updates - policies, Parents Handbook, development plan, examples of forms etc.. Our inspector was fine to look at documents on my laptop. when I expected an inspection I had them all printed, but keeping them in one place on a computer would save you from printing.
