Guest Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 What do you think of doing adult led focused activities in o o s c . do you follow eyfs planning and cover the seven areas of learning
AnonyMouse_5970 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I think the requirement is to follow the EYFS for children of that age (so in reception class at school). We don't run our OOSC anymore but when we did, our planning was very loose and flexible as children had been in the structured environment of school all day. We used to make the occasional obs of EYFS children and passed this on to school. We did carry out activities that would need to be led by an adult such as cooking or craft, but did this more to engage children and do something they enjoyed rather than have strict learning objectives.
Guest Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 thanx for the reply, did you keep any evidence of the activities you did with the children like photos and comments. we do so as to show we do cover the eyfs . we do the activities like you to engage the children not to educate. we have older children as well and they need to be kept motivated and this helps with behaviour children are asked what they would like to do so we can plan around there interests.
AnonyMouse_480 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Please can you tell me if a 23y old holiday club assistant can be in the ratios if she doesn't have level 3 qualification Thanks
