AnonyMouse_28434
OK. So this has been bugging me for a while. A local Nursery has kept its outstanding ofsted icon/logo and report from 2011 on its website even though it now has a 2015 Good rating. It does not have the up to date report anywhere so it looks like it is an outstanding setting. Would you inform Ofsted?

AnonyMouse_2995
Is it to do with competition or you think they are just giving false information, if it is not harming anybody l really don't like it when folks calls Ofsted unnecessary, it causes a lot of aggro and frustration to innocent parties IMHO.
AnonyMouse_28434
The outstanding grade was for 2011,the latest inspection is 2015 (good) so yes, false information and yes - competition for us too .
AnonyMouse_39602
Understand your frustration greenfinch but let it go , yes they might be competition but in my opinion/ experience not all parents go for the ofsted report. , its about the welcome , feel they get from an initial enquiry to meeting you and your team , visits etc

You just have to make yourself stand out rather relying on an outstanding!
AnonyMouse_28434
Thank you. I think I just feel frustrated by this and yes, maybe I should just 'let it go' (ooo - I feel a song coming on!) Seriously though, so shouldn't a setting publish their latest report on a website? Not a better one from 4 years ago because they'd rather the public see that? I don't understand how you can still advertise yourself as an Outstanding setting for another year after your grade has changed to Good? I need to make a coffee- I must have missed something. I am only concerned about this as yes I totally agree with this not being the only/main reason parents choose settings but I still think it is a factor, competition is tough for numbers at the moment so I suppose I feel that they are misleading prospective parents. I feel a bit like a child screaming 'its not fair!!' but that is why I can post and you lovely people put things into perspective ☺ Edited October 28, 2015 by Greenfinch
AnonyMouse_30128
I do completely understand...we have a nursery down the round that calls itself an outstanding setting ....NOTHING to do with their ofsted report ! it is misleading and needs to be addressed .....but not sure anyone has this on their agenda at the moment. It's in Ofsted's favour to have more settings rated as good or outstanding so that it looks like it is doing it's job!

I agree that ofsted reports are not the first thing that parents look at, but it should be the latest most relevant one that is available should they wish to look at it. I too would be getting frustrated about this and would want something done.
AnonyMouse_5970
That's a bit cheeky - but then Ofsted didn't invent the word. It could be seen to be misleading though.
