Whats in your role play as we lead up to Christmas?

Our biggest hit is copious amounts of cello tape, ridiculous amount of wrapping paper, scissors and random toys from around the room. Children wrap the toys give to friends/teachers they unwrap and it starts again. The guessing games and using describing words are the best part, before you even get onto your second gift they tell you what's inside lol.

Yes we do this too. Lots and lots and lots of wrapping!

We tend to do our Christmas role play after Christmas but in quite a low key way such as stockings, presents to wrap (again!) some dressing up outfits and Christmas books. We find it means more to the children this way, as even children who have already turned four, have little or no memory of last Christmas.

We have postoffice/cards, money tills etc and wrapping presents, weighing them on some scales. (Problem solving/Numbers) The children make Christmas cards for their parents and then we walk to the post box down the road to post them. (Creative, UtW, Phys, PSE sharing, CLL writing cards )

Large boxes for Santa sleigh or grotto with chair and lights.
