Child led planning

Recommended Posts

HI Skippy, have you seen this recent thread ?

http://eyfs.info/forums/topic/44966-in-the-moment-planning/

We have moved more towards this style of planning, scaled down greatly on adult initiated (mainly large group activities) to what we were trying to cram in each week to meet next steps, so far so good, I did an in-house staff training evening, gave them all a copy of the NYIA, set a couple of tasks to record their own 'teaching' over 1 week, then instead of doing 1:1 peer obs this half term I asked them to note their colleagues 'in the moment' teaching, we then had another meeting 4 weeks later to evaluate how it was going, staff were really positive about the planning and each others 'teaching',I think it made them all realise how much they do without having to have it written down in the first place :-)

There is also a fab article about 'sparks' on the home page
