AnonyMouse_4145
i want to start a letter writing programme with my reception class via our post office role play area, have thought about writing a letter from imaginery creature or maybe from a book character, does anyone have a letter they have done that they could share the format.. Cheers bb ps not sure if this makes sense, but it is a bit late in the evening!!
Guest
Don't have a letter format but another suggestion could be to type emails - it's a good extension to the activity and also helps incorporate ICT. Just a thought! x
Guest
i started our class bear with a letter - children came back from assembly to find a tiny envelope and letter on the carpet from abear called Cuddles - saying that he wondered if he could come and stay with us for a little while etc. Children wrote lovely letters back to cuddles and then he moved in! Stayed in classroom for a little while and then wrote to them again with request to come and meet their bears at home! we all wrote a list of what he might need to pack if he came home with the children and then apcked his bag - lots of PSHE - how will we look after and care for him at our homes! Each day Cuddles now goes home with someone different and then bring him back to school with a diary entry and pics in his diary to share with the class - next week we are planning a surprise bday party for him! Much fun and many cross curricular links!
AnonyMouse_4544
I have used the Bear letter /postcards from Literacy matters website with good success. The children eagerly await news from bear and are keen to inform his mum of bears travels. http://www.literacymatters.co.uk/resources..._letter_KS1.pdf http://www.literacymatters.co.uk/resources.html#preschool
