Guest Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Hi We are having pirate's week next week. I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas for foundation subjects for Reception that we can do in the afternoons, Thanks for any help!!!
Guest Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 You can buy the latest Boogie Beebies dvd which has a pirate dance on it. My nursery children loved it last year. We made boats in the construction area to use in the water. Buried treasure in the sand and had a treasure hunt outside (using positional language for the clues). Made hats and eye patches and telescopes for role play. Had pirate ship (from ELC) for small world. Had large boxes outside for them to build their own pirate ship. Drew treasure maps in mark- making area, also message in a bottle for shipwrecked pirates. Read Pirate Boy and Mrs Pirate (there's another one that I can't remember the name of aswell) Counted coins that they found. Sang when I was one etc ... I cant remember any more without looking at my plans that are at school but I hope these help Sue
