AnonyMouse_4562
Hi, So we're at that stage in the year where the children are now playing collaboratively but are struggling with sharing and respecting other children's play space. We had a little chat today and discovered that some of the children don't actually understand what 'being kind' means! Although this is something that we have chatted about before and used puppets etc to demonstrate we feel we need some decent, clear pictures to make it visual for the children. I've thought about taking photos of the children but just wondering if anyone has or knows of any resources that we could use to show the children different ways of being kind? Or a song maybe? Thanks Green Hippo x
Guest
Hi, We adapted a superhero costume and called it Captain Kind, Then we made a display of things that the children said she/he would do if they were Captain Kind, along with photos of them dressed up. We included pictures of children sharing, helping someone put on their shoes etc... We also used sticky labels and printed Captain Kind on them and when a child did something kind we give them one. Kind is such a hard concept even some adults stuggle, Lol.
