Guest
We worked really hard to bring out children up to a GLD from a low starting point last year, and were really pleased that, after gradually improving for years, we finally hit the National Average. All well and good. Then the budget for the next school year arrived, and we have been penalised (quite harshly - to the tune of several thousand pounds) because children's attainment on entry has gone up. On being queried this is not entry to the school, but entry to KS1. Of course we will continue to do the very best we can for our children, but this kind of financial penalty has implications for people's jobs. Feeling a bit kicked in the teeth just now. Does this happen in other authorities too? Edited February 13, 2016 by marywilliam
