AnonyMouse_49609 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Hi, I am the Chair of the playgroup; our treasurer is stepping down due to personal reasons. Can we elect a new treasurer at a normal committee meeting or would we need to call an EGM? Our AGM isn't until November. Thanks Clare
AnonyMouse_1469 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 i'm pretty sure you can simply vote in a new one at your next meeting, but I could be wrong
AnonyMouse_6721 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I need to find this out as well. I will investigate.
AnonyMouse_22106 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Personally I'd grab the 1st person who agreed to do it - wouldn't wait for a meeting! 2
AnonyMouse_59259 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 You can do it at a regular committee meeting and elect an existing committee member as treasurer if someone will step up or co-opt a new committee member on as treasurer 1
AnonyMouse_12805 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 If you have a constitution then it will say on there

Thanks Clare This happened to us a couple of years ago and we just nominated someone else at a normal meeting who had volunteered for the role,
AnonyMouse_49609 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Thanks for your advice peeps - we have an existing comittee member who has volunteered to step up to treasurer, so i'll put it through at the next meeting.
