Guest
Does anyone have any good ideas for number problems in nursery? Have done setting the table for teddys tea party but my brain has frozen! Also, we are making our own musical instruments from recyclable material and have the usual shakers made from plastic bottles and cardboard boxes with elastic bands stretched over them, but does anyone do anything different and exciting?! Thanks in advance!
Guest
We have a different number song/rhyme each week, lots of singing counting, matching taking away and adding.
Guest
You could make "pan pipes" by cutting down plastic drinking straws and sellotaping them together. Or how about making wind chimes with e.g. bottle tops and bamboo?
AnonyMouse_2157
We made ocean drums for out pirate topic lsat suummer. Large tub (we have a Cosco nearby and they sell big puddings in these plastic bowls that come with lids so were ideal). Pop some dried beans/peas etc in and seal with tape... hey presto. We also made rain sticks. We used poster tubes (they are sturdy) Seal one end and follow the line of the spiral down the tube. We made small holes with a bradle along this line and then got the children to hammer in small nails (great fun) We then experimented with differnt amounts of beans and also added more nails when needed to slow the beans down. Decorate as you wish and bingo. All the ones we made last year are now being used by the rest of the school in musci sessions Also what about filling different bottles with varying anounts of coloured water and listening to the change in sound? Hope you have fun
