AnonyMouse_390
We are looking at getting a mini bus for our out of school club runs. I know that there are restrictions on who can drive it according to when they passed their tests. Are there any other restrictions or permits that we are going to need? information online is a bit confusing!! thanks
FSFRebecca
The statutory requirements are: 3.66.Vehicles in which children are being transported, and the driver of those vehicles, must be adequately insured. If you are finding conflicting advice from different sources I woudl telephone your insurance company and ask them what they consider "adequately insured" means Good luck
AnonyMouse_1469
I'm not a driver,so what do I know? But I'd guess it means you must be insured to drive a minibus ( size/weight of bus)..........and business use.
Guest
At schools they used to make you take a test even if it said that you could on your driving licence (my hubby is the only one that can drive it due to this and his age!!)
AnonyMouse_390
thanks everyone... to be honest I think i'll be driving it for my own piece of mind! it's just the thing about permits.. but looking at the info I'm pretty sure as long as you aren't charging for travel costs you don't have to have permit like taxis do! i'm waiting on a call back from a company that leases minibuses - quite exciting really!
