Lauren
Please note that this tutorial is about tracking for the old EYFS. For information about tracking screens for the new EYFS 2021, please click here. The Development Matters Statements screen will tell you the number of times each statement has been observed and when the last time this happened was. There are two versions of this screen, an individual one and a group one. To find them, you will need to navigate to the Tracking tab (1) at the top of the page, then in the EYFS section (2) you will find a box that says 'Development Matters Statements'. You will need to click on (3) the 'Group View' or 'Individual View' button. For now we'll start with the individual view. To skip to the section on the group view click here. Individual View When you have gone to the individual view you will need to select what period of time you want to view this for, a full history, a selected period or a custom made period (1), a child (2) and which EYFS area you want to view this for (3). You can further refine the area down by age band(4) and you also have the choice whether you want to include unapproved observations or not (5). This screen, which you can see below, will then tell you the number of times each statement has been observed and when the last time this happened was (1). If a statement has been observed at least once it will show up as green. If no statements have been observed it will show as pink and will say '0' as the number of assessments (2). Group View Now let's take a look at the group view. Once you have selected that you will be taken to a page where you will need to select the sort of data you want to see. You can choose:. 1) Whether you want to view a full history, a custom made period or only view for a selected period 2) The EYFS area you want to see (all aspect within that area will be shown). 3) The age band/s you want to be included (please note that you can select several age bands). 4) Whether you want the statements from unapproved obs to be included. 5) The group of children you want to see. When you have filled that in, the chart shown below will appear. As you can see the statements will then be listed in rows and each child in your chosen group will have their own column so you can see how many times each statement has been ticked for each child. If the statement has been selected, the box will turn green. If has not been selected, the box will stay red.
