Hi we are looking to move to online learning journals and I am hoping for some advice on the type of tablets we can use. We don't have a lot of money but don't want to waste what we do have on buying something that isn't up to the job.

Thank you in advice.

Hi totsrus and welcome to the forum, I think its probably preference, we use samsung tab 2's all purchased refurbished 2 yrs ago and have been great, I actually prefer using them to the ipad, I love my ipad but it does annoy me that the numbers are not on the same keyboard as letters when using the ipad to type, I've seen others say the amazon fire (not kindle fire i don't think) tab 3's, and nexus work very well, i bought a cheap un-named tablet which worked fine but not great photo quality.

I'm sure others will be along to help soon :-)

I agree with Mouseketeer, i think it's preference. I love the iPad, we had galaxy tab 4's which we found were good but the screen is quite small when you are trying to do things quickly. I had a splurge recently and bought iPad's which the staff are loving. Very easy to use, but i think the main bonuses are due to screen size and photo quality. I don't think it really matters if it's an Android or IOS, but then we are using Tapestry which is very simple to use too!

We first had a cheap supermarket tablet which was okay and in some ways better than an Ipad as the default display was blue text on an off white background, so easier for my colleague who has Irlen's syndrome.

However... the internet connection was rubbish, and you had to be very close to the router to get enough of a signal to actually upload observations to Tapestry.

So we went to our local i store in uniform & with ID to prove we work at a preschool and asked what deal they could do us as a preschool and got 4 ipads at a good price which have much better internet connectivity.
