Is this role or policy stated anywhere as a requirement? Because if not, I shan't even be considering it. Sorry not to be of more help.

No, it's not a requirement - although some settings have their own policy to address their procedures under the Statutory Framework requirements 3.1/3.2(children learn best when they are healthy...), 3.47/3.48 (Healthy eating)
