Think that'not listening bug' has made it to East Anglia on the wind. I think it's once the children start on those transition visits into the primary schools. We suddenly become redundant. Quite sad really because the better job we do, the less they still need us. Like old shoes - big sigh! Anyway we must have done the best job ever lolx. Enjoy your weekend folks.

Sunnyday glad to hear that things are ok with your son.

Been a longish week this week, think the heat has wiped everyone out. The not listening bug is very contagious Sunnyday as it seems to have travelled from Kent to Cornwall! Also a particularly challenging week for a behaviour issue that one of ours has. Just sat slumped on the couch now feeling like I have been run over by a steam train. I have purposely left all work at school, the TDL can wait!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I think my little lot are tired (heat hasn't helped) and they are quite confused too, they have started their taster sessions at primary school - I can't help thinking that we (as a country) do this all wrong......

if I was 'in charge' they would all come back to pre-school in September and the whole 'transition' would begin then - as it is the poor things don't know where they belong......and of course the whole issue of 6/7 weeks holiday helps no-one.....

Aha! we crossed posts their Isp - but I see we are in agreement :1b

It is noticeable that my 'non-leavers' are not having any issues (touching wood as I type that!)

I am awarding myself a gold star that I have only just poured a glass of wine, think that showed real strength of character and will power today. Which COEL would that cover?

I have attended two transition sessions now with my lot who are going to our school and it fills me with pride to see them so confident and happy for the new experiences, they really enjoyed the time we spent there. It is sad that they no longer need you but I think it means that we have done a good job.

My Friday evening??Ikea.............balance beam, juggling kit, storage boxes, pan scrubbers ( the bristly ones with long handles...............great for getting in all the nooks and crannies when cleaning the car....who knew?)............three lovely wooden trellis things ( and at £12 each, an absolute bargain) a couple of glasses, 20 miniature blue bags ( I'm putting one on each peg so the children can bung all their bits and bobs in them).........then popped over the road to Burger King, where i danced with the soft drinks machine that kept pouring out ice cubes, so many that they were all over the floor ( I kept waiting for Jeremy Beadle to pop out!) ( Older viewers will know who I mean).............then back home to a nice super-cold shandy. I KNOW how to live :) :)

Really good night out with friends last night - the crying with laughter kind! This morning I'm pottering and doing my menu plan and shopping list for next week. Feeling a little sad as my sister just called to tell me that 3 of her husband's nephews and nieces have died after being swept away by a flash flood on their way home from school. They live in the mountains in Nepal and I've never met them but they are still family and my brother-in-law is devastated - times like this when you want to be at home with your family.

Mostly this weekend I'm working on the TDL which is mostly report writing - 22 to go! I think I'm also fighting a chest infection which has been brewing for weeks so although I don't want it I'm quite glad it's coming out. I really ought to get dressed soon - it's amazing how many jobs you can do in pjs!

I'm sorry to hear of your sister's loss......................I've just heard that a friend took his own life yesterday. Only he knows the reason and he has left wife and child, devastated by their loss. Life ticks along and we don't know what's in people's minds.............and I have also just heard that an old friend is fighting hard against the cancer demon. My mood has changed somewhat :(

It's a very difficult time for us at the moment for many different reasons and I came home completely exhausted the other day and I did think to myself I am not sure I could ever do this full time again. (Only open mornings). Day to myself today as have jibbed out on helping at our gig clubs gig day. Meant to be on the finishing line, but it just seemed one thing too much this week. Don't like admitting defeat, but am just going to have a peaceful day and try to switch off from work concerns. Have a great weekend all.

For goodness sake, it normally goes in a whiz, so why isn't it Friday yet??! The last couple of weeks of term just drag.........

I had both a moment of excitement and one of panic when I saw this thread at the top again - wondered how I'd managed to lose 2 whole days!

Made it! I have had a lovely week - my student has been out all of it either at her new school or not well (that bit's not good) but it means that I have had my class to myself for the whole time with no one watching me! Guess what, my children still do know how to behave! It's been one of those weirdly long weeks and I'm feeling a bit flat today. We have a transition week next week - new class for the whole week. I've never done that before and am struggling for ideas. Other than that usual Friday evening nearly falling asleep!
