It’s a really tricky one, because there’s a fine line between this behaviour and actually telling an adult something important.  Could you throw it open to the class each time it happens, to see what the consensus of opinion is? ‘Do you think that Shonagh needed to interrupt us all to say that?  Is it important?’  Sort of teaching them ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’.  Or would that be considered child humiliating these days?

I don’t know! Probably no more humiliating than me losing it completely and being really sarcastic! 😉 I usually say )did it hurt you? Did it hurt someone else? Is it an emergency? Then you can save it for later.

Today has been better (in part because one of my children who whilst not particularly a tale teller has traits which really irritate the others which then causes them to tell tales - she’s not sitting properly (meaning she nudges others or they can’t see)/she’s making noises etc some of I’m trying to strategically ignore because they irritate me too but if I picked up on all of them we would never get anything done!

My youngest granddaughter (7) lost her first tooth at school, she was very proud of this and eager for her first tooth fairy visit...

Me: Oh brilliant, did you tell Mr ******

Her: Yes

Me: What did he say

Her: Congratulations, now get a tissue

I loved this, I have never met him, but I thought, yep he is my kind of guy, kind but completely no nonsense!

It's seem I'm not alone with the challenging children this year! Personally my thoughts are--- can l lock either the child or myself in the cupboard for a little while?

We have the Tale teller,  the sweary child, the tantrum child, and a couple of high pitched screamers!   I did say early on this is the year that will break me into retirement! 😂

Parents blame it on covid - personally I blame it on bad parentling.  Maybe covid is partly responsible for the children becoming more dependend on 'screens' - but I certainly feel much bad - sorry 'negative' behaviours are due to inapropriate things being watched.  Not going to lie some of my staff also seem to need a rocket somewhere to be a little more motivated at the moment 😭   Think I am going to have a little chat about me retiring and 'shall we call it a day' for the preschool - that might make them actually take there roles a bit more seriously in planning out the day!

Well. that's it for the moaning.

Hope everones knees, hips and ankles are all holding out this week. 😊 I did so much walking last week that i actually had blisters on the sole of my heel! never had that before- not painful but definitely uncomfortable 😳 Time for some proper walking shoes I think - can anyone recommend a good pair/make? I'm thinking skechers but not sure.

Tomorrow is the due date for the new grandchild 😮 he doesn't appear to be in any hurry to get here though.

Have a good weekend everyone x

Hi louby loo

I was not aware Sketchers did walking shoes but the most comfortable shoes I own are my sketcher's golf shoes which even after 4 hours on the golf course still feel like slippers lol

I also have some trainers which are fab.....must now research walking boots!!!

Oh louby - hope that dear baby makes an appearance soon - excited for you!

Yes, I found some sketchers walking boots online and reading the reviews it seem they have diffrent 'insides' (for want of a better word). I too have some 'go walk' sketchers which are for normal everyday type walking, and while away went back to wearing those for walks as we had such good weather and lets face it Suffork is very flat 😂

I have a soft spot for WBD, just don't like the commercialism of it these days

I used to love it - we took all our quilts in (staff) and we’d make ‘nests’ and just read books all day!  Children would pick their favourite books and we’d really ramp up the silly voices and acting out.  But you’re right, it all started to change and become something away from the essence of books.

I am laughing at myself. I usually do my best to avoid food waste - my menu plan for the week always includes clear the fridge Friday but I had been thinking that  I needed to do more. I often end up with yogurt that’s about to expire and I wouldn’t eat it in time so today I tried a lemon yogurt cake… I think the words ‘epic fail’ were made for this. It bounces and I’m fairly sure is waterproof! 😂😂

I think we should think of some 'alternative' uses for this bake 😂

They all seem so full on!

That sounds horribly familiar!   I can remember a new staff member saying to me in the autumn term that she’d have trouble saying goodbye to the children in the summer term and asking how I coped every year - my reply? Believe me, come April you’ll be counting down the weeks to July 🤣🤣🤣

Cait beat me to it 😂

Indeed 'tis Friday - whoosh another week gone...

How is everyone?

Louby - has that dear baby put in an appearance yet?

My little Knit and Natter group was a year old yesterday - crikey - that's whoosh and a whole year gone - all good though, we have achieved so much in that year, lots of lovely projects completed for various charities...currently we are making baby blankets for the neo-natal unit at the John Radcliffe, Oxford

Horrible knee continues to be horrible - I am waiting now for an appointment for a steroid injection...I questioned what the physio meant when he said "this is going to be a long job" - he grimaced and said "probably 4 months" - I said "oh, okay, well that's not so bad, it's been 3 months already" - to my utter dismay he said "oh no, 4 months from start of treatment" ☹️ in which case, I would be looking at May...anyway, it is what it is, nothing to be gained by worrying about it

On a brighter note - Mr S has had his telephone consultation/assessment for his 'Pulmonary Rehabilitation' and is looking forward (well maybe) to the start of the course which will be next Friday and the Tuesdays and Fridays for the next six weeks - this is a pre-requisite for his surgery - so a needs must

Onwards and upwards!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend x

Happy Friday all

I genuinely do not know where the weeks go.  I know they say as you get older time goes quicker but at the current rate I must be about 105 lol

Hope the sun is shining where you are and you can all get out for some fresh air (been very fresh here in Sussex....brrrr) over the weekend.
