Oh is it - I knew it must be something 'special' ::1a

Re sapphires - is it wrong to think i would just rather have something lovely for the garden?

No! If I had any hope of a sapphire anniversary I would too (except I'm rubbish at gardening!). Maybe a sapphire blue flower of some kind? Hope you have a lovely, special day and congratulations!

I have ended up doing impromptu babysitting this afternoon. The friend I visited last night has been invited along to a book group. She's nervous about going and was using the fact that she's on her own and didn't have any childcare as an excuse to not go. I've essentially told her she's going and that I will have the children! Really hoping it goes well and she will go again - she needs to do something for her too sometimes.

We took him for a walk on his favourite beach this morning in the beautiful sunshine, so very poignant but nice to have done. Been an emotional day and now trying to get used to the house without him. Just need it to stop being raw and let the happy memories come flooding back. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Xxx

You are so kind. It's hit me like a wrecking ball today, the last week was all about making the decision then getting it done yesterday. It's crazy isn't it how much a part of the family they become. Feel totally bereft today. Think I may be doing a lot of my TDL this week just to keep busy. I know a lot of people reading this will think "for goodness sake it's only a dog" and I get that and I swear I do have my priorities straight but he was incredibly special and always by my side. I thank you all for your kind words. Xxx

Take time to take care of yourself.

I read some research somewhere that said the immediate grief felt after the loss of a loved family pet is the same as losing a family member- the difference being that you recover from the grief sooner with pets :(. xxx Not that that helps- but I think the grief you feel needs to be understood. xx

Well, I don't work Fridays, so been even shorter for me

Added to that from some strange reason unfathomable to us staff- the owner emailed all the parents and told them we weren't back until Wednesday :o - so only the parents that never bother reading the emails turned up! I few more drifted in during the morning but it was a nice quite day on the whole. :1b :1b :1b :1b

I have just woken up after falling asleep on the living room floor at about 6.45pm! Hopefully I'll have a little more energy tomorrow!

oh Froglet bless you. You must really have been tired when you got home. I find it strange that this week has been more tiring than the last week of term was

Totally agree. My deputy has jsut handed in a sick note for the next 4 weeks so we are totally right up to ratio, trying to maintain 1-1 support for additional needs child, three new ones starting and supporting a child with some behaviour issues. Also trying to share her key children between us. On top of that I have now developed three cold sores around my nose which are making me feel totally awful today.
