AnonyMouse_53762
The government have today released draft 2017 figures for business rates. AnonyMouse_5970
Just checked mine and it stays exactly the same as this year. I don't understand why yours would have gone up so much MagicStar???
AnonyMouse_7120
Nothing comes up for our postcode or street name/town ...maybe ours will be free ;-p
FSFRebecca
Our local nursery's has gone up by about 250% £13,000 to £30,000 That means that the estimated annual bill will rise by about £60 a month ....
AnonyMouse_53762
Stargrower, we are in the south east, so we must be rich! Shame nobody told the government, as we are getting £3.96 per hour for EYFE! https://www.ft.com/content/0ccc9750-86e9-11e6-bcfc-debbef66f80e

That's just the first year where there is Transitional relief. By my calculations, once the Transitional Releif period has ended and the rates have scaled up to the full rate, that nursery will be paying a whopping £680 Per month ON TOP of what they are currently paying! This is going to be crippling.
AnonyMouse_5970
Are they making these huge increases to take nurseries above the planned £15000 exemption? Our rateable value is just below the threshold so I'm really hoping it stays that way. I currently pay £630 a month. I'm in East Anglia. AnonyMouse_12805
250% increase is criminal! Can you imagine if private landlords increased rents by that much or food costs rose by that level.
AnonyMouse_48190
Luckily mine has not bona up by that much, but very frustrating that it has now gone up to £15,250 meaning I am just over the threshold. I knew this would happen

AnonyMouse_5970
Clever isn't it? It made the Chancellor look so good giving so many childcare providers and break and making them exempt. Then a few months later increasing their rateable value to just above the threshold. We are just under at the moment so I'm sure we will go up too.
