AnonyMouse_11362 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hi Everyone, Just wandering if anyone knows how to access the updated version of EYFS Development Matters. I have tried searching online but it keeps coming up with the 2012 version. Are there many changes? Thank you
AnonyMouse_55063 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Not sure if its been updated since 2012 although there was a revision on 2014 http://www.earlyyearsmatters.co.uk/revised-eyfs-published/ Also, maybe this is the document you meant due to changes recently within it? https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/inspecting-safeguarding-in-early-years-education-and-skills-from-september-2015 If the Dev Matters is to be updated this year I am unaware
AnonyMouse_67152 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Have heard whispers of an update being due from Sept 2016 - but seen nothing yet!!! Thought it may be linked to the standards and new Safeguarding docs though; not develop matters?
AnonyMouse_43806 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I was at a Big Conversation with Ofsted last week who said they were still waiting for the new EYFS to come from the Department for Education. Suggested it would have updates around safeguarding/child protection and first aid training i light of recent legislation. 1
AnonyMouse_55063 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 All the info I can find.. isn't it the Stat Framework that's being updated? Sounds Interesting all the same http://www.foundationyears.org.uk/2016/08/the-early-years-foundation-stage-profile-retained-for-201617/
AnonyMouse_73 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 It's always watch and wait isn't it? I'm sure there will have to be an update to the EYFS once an agreement is made over assessment..What will replace the profile or baseline? What will be statutory, if anything etc. And I'm hearing there will be additions around physical activity and dental hygiene, but I can't see anything coming into place before Sept 2017. 1
