AnonyMouse_41471 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 As a setting we use next steps/suggested observations to move our children on against the EYFS. Currently we do not make this option avail for parents to see, we are looking to feedback to our parents by using the report option to show them how we ae looking to their child on so we can select specific areas. What do other settings use ? Quote
FSFRebecca Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Some settings use the observations screen - so when the Key Person has decided the next steps having reviewed all the info from parents etc over the past 1/2 term they might send home an obs that says "Billy's next steps" they then use the text box to describe what the next steps are, how they are going to support them at the setting and then how the parents might support them at home. Hopefully, the parents respond with some ideas of their own or an acknowledgement that they have understood. Then when they do an observation pertaining to that next step they title it "Billy's next steps ....." and then they do a normal obs and assess it - and hope for feedback from parents. That way the assessments will feed into the next steps for the next term when the Key Person looks at the summative assessment screen at the end of the assessment period. Quote
