What made you smile this weekend?

Thank you.

She's going for a sleepover in her new bedroom during half term and then starting school there on the following Monday.

Having had her at home with me since June 2015 when we started this battle, it will feel very strange and quiet around here for a while.

Aww - it will Upsy - but well done you and your daughter - hope that all of her dreams come true......

So a new weekend and I have already smiled (and not just because it's half-term!). I tend to have a weekend breakfast of boiled egg and a bagel. This morning when I took the top off the egg it was completely perfect and that so rarely happens! Plus as it's half-term I treated myself to a cinnamon and raisin bagel as well as the plain one I usually have - the smell of warm cinnamon alone makes me smile!

I put cinnamon in an apple crumble the other day and my daughter said "Mmmm. It smells like Christmas." :1b

Hasn't been beautiful down here, we have 'black east wind' and is quite unpleasant. I really want to put my PJs on and snuggle up and watch strictly, but have to go out for a meal to a busy, noisy pub! Oh well at least someone else is doing the cooking and washing up!

The sun being out this morning after torrential rain yesterday. My stupid dog, pulling on a stick that was actually a vine about 30 foot high and soaking me in rain drops when he pulled it! The fact that I have ready lasagna, sage and onion bread and crumble all done for tonight's tea. Just off for a haircut and hope I am still smiling when I get back!

Weather is absolutely gorgeous today and I have been in the garden cutting back overgrown shrubs. I heard a 'mewing' noise and looked up into the sky to see a Buzzard soaring effortlessly against the bright blue sky. I stood watching and realised there were about seven of them. Beautiful sight.

Looking at photos with my children (20 years plus!) of our beloved family dog who died peacefully this weekend. Tears and sadness too as we had her for 12 years and all miss her.

So sorry to hear that, can only imagine what you are feeling. Xx

We have our 10 year old granddaughter with us for the day.......she was delivered by our DIL just after 9 who said "she's had her breakfast"

I went into my office saying "won't be long I have just one work thing to do"

Through the closed door I heard "Granddad I'm starving"

Granddad "what would you like, how about a muffin"

She knows granddad is a soft touch! ::1a

I've had a new car today ::1a

I collect it Tuesday and its lovely and shiny. I'll miss Vin (diesel) but he's very old and is starting to cost money with things going wrong, wearing out and breaking :(

The new ones number plate is LMY perfect for my ferret Lemmy. It was meant to be ::1a

Just had one of those moments last night when we were all together as a family having a bit of a giggle, and I thought I want to freeze this moment and hang onto it. As my boys are growing away (17 and15) these times when we are all together are increasingly getting less and less and on some occasions one of them will be being a truculent teenager!

Also smiled today when my sons rugby team absolutely smashed their game and he remained injury free!

I'm sure we can all relate to that as our children grow older.. Even now, mine are 32,29 and 24 and when "we" as the family are all together it's magic - just different somehow. I love the way they interact with each other as families so often do. Always brings a huge smile to my face.

Your post reminds me of my 'Always Smile'

Last year, at my youngest sons graduation I watched he and his older brother play pool with hubby. I decided then that I like these two young men apart from the love you naturally have as mom. They whispered together about strategy against their dad, they played him up, they laughed at him and ganged up in a way only brothers can I expect.

I saw them as young men, adults, people not just as my children, my little boys. The photo I took of their shared whispering is a joy.
