AnonyMouse_14268 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 So I thought we could post some photo's of where we live but as someone pointed out we may not all live in very photogenic places. So what about if we post photo's of places that are special to us? Either where we live or from our holidays? My first photo is of my son and dog on a beach less than half a mile from my front door. 6 Quote
AnonyMouse_3735 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Love this one, but may bore you all with the wonderful places nearby.... I may even throw in a few from my last Holiday... ::1a Could not choose just one so this is 4 pictures of the same place - Old St Nicholas Church, still consecrated but part of it had has no roof and is only used for services on special occasions. It is on top of a steep hill and a climb to get to it , but a beautiful walk that leads to a nature reserve , about 2 miles from where I live.. 4 Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 (edited) Oh lovely idea.....I love taking photos. This is one that popped up on my timeline this morning from memories of last year on facebook. It was a walk along the Stratford to Birmingham canal, near Birmingham. I cant make it the right way round! Edited October 18, 2016 by Rea 4 Quote
AnonyMouse_14268 Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Look at the view from the house where we held a TAC meeting this afternoon. I wish I had taken the photo 15 minutes earlier as the expanse of beach was huge! 4 Quote
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Lihou, just off Guernsey. A very special place. The second picture is a sunset from our old house in Cumbria 7 Quote

AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Facebook just gave me another memory. :1b :1b This is looking down on Llanberis, North Wales. Snowdon is on the right with his head in the clouds. I love it here, I've told everyone who will listen I want my ashes scattered from the top of Snowdon. I tried to walk it years ago but failed to make the top and in 2012, when I took this photo, we went up on the train but it stopped 3 quarters of the way up, so I still didnt get to the top! 6 Quote
AnonyMouse_14268 Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 Hopefully we are planning a visit to Snowdon for a weekend next year. I would love to walk it, but husband wants to take the train! Quote
AnonyMouse_8885 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 My view right now.....poolside in Crete. 6 Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 There are various paths, cant remember which one we took, we started the other side to Llanberis, but it came to a really narrow sheer drop path and I froze. A lady of 72 marched past on her way down, she'd done the walk on her own. I was ashamed of myself but still couldnt move past the drop! But even from where I was, about 10 mins from the top, the views are spectacular. :1b 1 Quote

AnonyMouse_3735 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Our last holiday was 3 months long . We went and saw some beautiful places, and find it so hard to choose one, so more will follow.. This was something I had wanted to do since learning about fiords at school, we had a boat trip in the most peaceful place I have ever been. Took a coach, boat and another coach over a road that has no link to any main road , it is just there to get over the mountain and is unsealed gravel, before joining the boat to travel on the Fiord . This is Doubtful Sound.. New Zealand South Island Fiordland . 4 Quote

AnonyMouse_14268 Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 Photo from today's dog walk. I love it up here, you look across to Falmouth bay or back to wild and treacherous Manacle reef. 4 Quote

Used to love Westonbirt, went often, but since 'developing' it have not enjoyed it , not as peaceful - all I wanted was a walk through the wide variety of trees.. , so local woods for me from now.. Tyntesfield last Autumn. . Edited October 24, 2016 by Inge 4 Quote
