AnonyMouse_53762
My head hurts! It's good that apprenticeships are being promoted, but I read that and feel no wiser as to what is being offered and what it means to us as an employer. Perhaps I'll read it again when my brain is fresh!
FSFRebecca
I think it means that as employers we will be able to take on young apprentices as their fees will be covered - I don't think we get any money it would go to whoever is training or assessing them. I think the exception to this is if you take on an apprentice who was in care. We were concerned that we might not be able to continue to take on apprentices if we had to pay elements of their training fees. Nursery World have just written in response to the announcement and have reflected on what this means for the early years sector.
