AnonyMouse_47553 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Hi all! Just had my pre-Ofsted catch up with Pre-school Alliance and one of the few :1b things we picked up is us missing Recruitment procedure. Is there anyone who would not mind sharing their procedure with us,please? Thank you!
AnonyMouse_1469 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 'pre-Ofsted catch up with the Pre-School Alliance'..................what is that?? 1
AnonyMouse_47553 Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 We went through a check list with all the requirements and possible things Ofsted inspector will ask for. Sorry for the wording :-)
AnonyMouse_8282 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Could you be lacking Safer Recruitment training ? Has anyone completed this? 1
AnonyMouse_47553 Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 I think what they asked for was some kind of a form-procedure which says how we employ staff and what we do once they start with us e.g. induction, reference check etc, Somewhere we can just tick a box that things were done.
AnonyMouse_1469 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 our inspector asked specifically about safer recruitment, so if I were you, I'd look for an online course
FSFRebecca Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 There are some useful documents in the resource library . I found this online recruitment course that might be of interest: NDNA course: Introduction to recruitment and selection
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Thank you. That course looks perfect! 1
AnonyMouse_12805 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I did an online one with PSLA. If you are a member it will be free
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I have a job applicant who states that she classes herself as having a disability - bad back is listed as a reason she left a previous job. What are your thoughts on this? Can I ask her at interview if she'll be able to manage getting up and down off the floor and helping pack away etc?
FSFRebecca Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Personally, I would think you can absolutely ask her as that is what the job entails - but I'd also give ACAS a call and just make sure. I would also make sure that if she was the best candidate for your role I had her on a trial first, if someone says 'oh, it'll be fine' in interview without actually having done the job she may come unstuck when she realises how physically demanding it is
