As we move towards a different way of setting out the resources in our setting I am interested to know what you all use as storage boxes/ baskets. I have completely fallen in love with a photo I saw of a setting. It was all very calm looking, using the natural baskets rather that the brightly coloured plastic that I am currently working with, but it must have cost a fortune. Has anyone any ideas of what to use that will look nice and natural, be tough to withstand children but not cost the earth? Any help greatly appreciated.

the baskets is ikea are quite expensive but they do a good range of wooden boxes.

I also scour my charity shops for baskets...put out a plea to parents...try amazon.....garden centres and home stores like the range. Early excellence have some fab ones that are really hard wearing but a bit more expensive. Floristry warehouses also a good source

Not sure where I saw this - feeling it may have been an ofsted video - but I have seen images of basket weave glued onto the front of plain plastic boxes. Looked great in the video. Not sure how long it would last. Wouldn't like you to think that's how I set my place up though.

We've tried all sorts of baskets, boxes, materials some being more successful than others! I honestly think that 'getting what you pay for' applies in this scenario - sometimes worth paying a little more for longevity and also the safety of little hands!! Try Dunelm - they have masses of many different shapes, sizes, and materials which we've used in the past - the ones with handle holes in are really good for the children to pull in and out themselves.

Oh my goodness, how did I not know about the early excellence shop before now? Have now got an account set up and am ready to spend, spend, spend!

Thank you all for your replies.
