FSFRebecca Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I have just come across this piece of research - it was published last summer and so is a little out of date. I thought it was still useful to post though because we have several members of our forum who are currently researching language aquisition and also the effect that music has on the development of infants' brains. I didn't feel that the research in this instance told me anything I didn't already know - it's been a long time since 'having music on in the background' was acceptable in early years settings - and the research explains the reason why! (Although, based on my own professional experience I don't feel like I need the qualifier 'may' in the research title!) Background Noise May Hinder Toddlers’ Ability to Learn Words 1 Quote
