AnonyMouse_14268
So reading through the 'Friday post' it's obvious that it is not just me that is lacking motivation! I started the holiday motivated to get everything done in the first two weeks then forget about it all. The reality is I have done bits and pieces and moved the rather large pile of folders and work from the table to the desk and back again. I am nearly there, just need to tweak a couple of things on the SEF and collate my trackers and update the development plan. I have been to school all day today and am happy with the changes that I have made to layout and contionous provision. Was expecting laminating pouches to be delivered today but because I was not home they took them away again!! Just need to laminate a few things and get them up then it's done. I would say I could then enjoy the rest of the Sumer, but the weather is miserable. I think this is having a real impact on motivation levels. I did find my TDL today and it was quite nice to see what I had achieved but just need to knuckle down and finish the rest. Don't know if anyone has seen the curiosity approach nurseries on Facebook that is quite motivational to look at.

AnonyMouse_22106
You're not alone I've always lacked motivation in the 6 week holiday, always more productive on the 1 or 2 week half terms think I like deadlines!

Researching Tapestry   (although I have unearthed rather a lot of my late mothers tapestry wools -which could create a pleasant distraction from main project   )

AnonyMouse_30128
in terms of motivation you could try the 'hour' technique......find yourself a task you can do in an hour (break a large task in to smaller pieces) start your timer....try to FINISH the task in an hour then stop and go and do something that you would like to do instead (gardening cooking reading etc!) ....it's similar to the first this then that approach used for children . makes tasks a bit more fun! Ermmmm......... you seem to have you're 'working' head on with all these sensible suggestions  My Tapestry diversionary tactics reminded me I had Level 3 coursework randomly abandoned somewhere- I just went and found it- that another two box files and three folders cleared out... ::1a I am soooo loving this paper purge I'm on - I told my husband I was starting on his stash tomorrow - he looked worried

AnonyMouse_19782
very good programme can't believe how many times the teacher called the children "love" or "mate" or similar, certainly not something I've heard a teacher say before in my earshot! AnonyMouse_14268
All loose ends tied up, SEF updated, funding forms printed and ready to be filled out, all laminating done, off to school today to finish up! I am a pretty organised person and keep on top of things but it's crazy quite how much there always is to do and catch up on!
AnonyMouse_7120
That was also my mission yesterday zigzag, weather lousy, no other plans so tie up loose ends, and do the jobs I've been putting off like SEF and Improvement plan, opened emails first thing and a new parent has pulled a child out 'for now' due to problems with transport/work patterns ....well my mojo upped and left as I went back to changing registers, key person groups, Birthday board etc, etc, etc....not to mention the time to set them up on Tapestry, prepare their baseline assessment... :'( I feel the introduction of a registration fee coming on whether it's frowned upon or not gggrrrrr
AnonyMouse_19782
That is so frustrating Mousie - I have had similar happen or new children coming in so often towards the latter stages of the holiday that I hold out on some jobs like this for as long as I can. The grandchildren have just left - had them for 24 hours - and peace has descended once more. ::1a As much as I adore them, the hour or so after they have gone is secretly bliss ::1a ::1a ::1a ::1a the tidying up done, the kettle on and a few minute on here.
