Customising your account

Recommended Posts

There are many ways to customise your Tapestry account depending on your own preferences and what type of setting you are. For example, if you are an Early Years setting or a childminder you may want to have a fun feature background, especially if children and their parents are going to be accessing their experiences through Tapestry. If you are a school using Tapestry to record and follow progress in Key stage 1 or 2 you may wish to have a plain background.  In this tutorial I will run through how to change your theme and font, how to update your setting name, and how to add a logo to your account.

If you are looking to customise a particular aspect of your account you can use the links below to navigate to a specific section of this tutorial.

  3. Updating your setting name
  4. Adding a logo

Changing your theme

You can customise your Tapestry by choosing from a range of themes and font types that appear in the notes section of an observation. To do this you will need to go to your Control Panel by clicking on your name in the top right hand corner (1), then selecting 'Control Panel' from the drop-down menu (2).

You will then need to click on 'Settings' (1) and then 'Theme' (2) from the drop-down menu.

To change the theme you just need to select the one you would like from the drop down list in the'Select Theme' (3) section.

If you'd like a relatively plain theme with a variety of colours available, select the 'Classroom' theme. When using this theme there are 5 colours to choose from: Blue, green, red, purple and yellow. For a simple theme, select 'Plain' which is a medium blue background.

Changing your font

To change the font just select the one you would like to use in the 'Theme Display Settings' box (1) .

If you are using the default theme you can also choose whether you would like the butterfly to appear in the top left hand corner of the Control Panel (2) and if you want to turn the background pattern off (3). If you are using the countryside theme you can choose whether you would like a graphic of children playing to appear at the top of the page.

To save your changes you just need to press the 'Save' button (4) .

As well as this you can also add information for your setting such as Ofsted URN and your address. Once you are finished on this page you just need to remember to select 'Save' at the bottom.

After you have uploaded the logo you can edit the image by rotating it (1) or cropping it (2). If you realise you have uploaded the wrong image you can get rid of this by clicking on the 'Remove' button (3).

Depending on the theme you’ve selected, your logo should now appear in the cloud on each page as well as when you download a child's journal to a PDF.
