AnonyMouse_78482
Hello My preschool currently accepts children from 2y5. What would I need to do to accept 2 year olds?
AnonyMouse_33773
More staff (1 to 4 children), a large supply of spare nappies, eyes in your neck and plenty of patience.
AnonyMouse_78482
Great tips! But what about in terms of paperwork? Notifying ofsted/council etc?
AnonyMouse_33900
Technically a 2.5 yr old is still a 2 year old - so ratios should already be 1:4 - you may need to notify Ofsted but I would have thought that as you already take 2.5 year olds then you already take 2 year olds - does that make sense. Sorry long day x
AnonyMouse_33773
Long day for me too - and got a cold! So, if you accept 2 1/2 year olds, you don't need to do anything.

AnonyMouse_19920
check your registration with ofsted - gives you the age bands you can care for. speak to your development worker / EY support teacher they should be able to give you more information on where to go next and things you need to do (if you need to do anything) maybe some training for working with 2 yr olds If you have 2-5yr olds there shouldn't be much to change. FSFRebecca
check your registration with ofsted - gives you the age bands you can care for. If you are registered on Early Years Register you are already registered for 0-5 years, just need to make sure that you meet the Statutory Framework requirements for the different age groups re staff qualifications, ratios and space etc. Your certificate will say 'xxxx setting is registered on the Early Years register'
AnonyMouse_23964
Maybe just check with your insurance company but to be honest it probably states 2 year olds rather than 2.5 year olds.
