AnonyMouse_7120
A good read Rebecca, we have been following the ITM approach for almost 3 yrs now and I was fortunate enough to hear Anna Ephgrave speaking yesterday :-) Interestingly the 'day nursery' approach to next steps is exactly how we do our next steps using tapestry and share with parents etc..., looking at the previous half term "latest snapshot" informs the key person of a couple aspects where little or no progress was shown from the previous one or they are likely to go 'pink' if we don't focus on that.....and that is as far as our planning goes, we don't plan activities, we have no planning meetings :-D I can still hear a previous inspector at feedback meeting saying "whilst it is clear that staff know their key children very well I cannot easily see what their planned next steps are and because that is an eyfs requirement I cannot give an overall outstanding judgement" .... many years later I would have challenged that and not just accepted is as right ....you live and learn, which is pretty much what Anna said about every tiny thing we tell them, show them, demonstrate to them meeting their next step at that moment in time :-D
