FSFRebecca
As part of The National Autistic Society’s Autism Hour and with the support of shopping centre owner intu, in the week of 2 October shops and businesses will be taking simple steps for 60 minutes that lead to a more autism-friendly world. Participating shops and businesses will be turning down music and other noise, dimming the lights and sharing information about autism with their employees. To find out which shops and businesses on your local high street are taking part follow this link. Additionally, I don't know if anyone heard this Radio 4 piece? Michael Rosen finds out what can be learnt about communication from people with autism. It was a fascinating discussion with two representatives of The Curly Hair Project. It was particularly interesting to hear from Alis about how she manages the communication difficulties she faces between herself, having Asperger’s Syndrome, and those who are neurotypical.
