AnonyMouse_80021 Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Hi, I’m new to tapestry and I’m just trying to get to grips with how we are going to use it in my year R setting. I’m thinking...as when we assess children it is meant to be when they are at their independent level, it makes sense not to add the assessment statements to observations when we are recording something that has been adult directed..... Is that how everyone else uses it? So the assessment data Tapestry collects is purely independent? It’s a bit of a minefield! But obviously great!! Thank you in advance for any replies! Quote
FSFRebecca Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Hello Rachel! Welcome to the forum and well done on making your first post I think that most teachers record an observation when they feel it is of particular interest or note and assess accordingly. If they are simply sharing a photograph with parents it is not assessed. I wouldn't be too caught up in the 'is it independent or not' as that will be reflected in the assessment you make anyway. I'm going to move this question to the Tapestry discussion area and then other teachers might be along to help Quote
