FSFRebecca Posted November 29, 2017 Share Posted November 29, 2017 This research, published recently in The British Psychological Society's Readers Digest magazine, says that "The results suggest that pretending to be a popular fictional character helps young children to resist distraction, at least compared to the other conditions used in this experiment." It's a fascinating read - and might be usefully applied in EY settings everywhere (although the children probably know this already (always takes us a while to catch up!)).
