FSFRebecca Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 This research, published recently in The British Psychological Society's Readers Digest magazine, says that "The results suggest that pretending to be a popular fictional character helps young children to resist distraction, at least compared to the other conditions used in this experiment." It's a fascinating read - and might be usefully applied in EY settings everywhere (although the children probably know this already (always takes us a while to catch up!)).
